Oscar's Birth - Summary

Here is a quick rundown of how it all happened

• Wednesday 30th October
• 3:30am Waters Broke
• 4:30am got to CHCH Women's
• Clare got into an established labour and sucked on the gas
• Baby's head wasn't and never did engage
• Lost the fetal heart for a while because baby shifted
• Epidural didn't take
• at 11:30 decided on a caesarian because of baby not engaging
• I got gowned up and baby was born/extracted at 12:45pm
• Found the cord was wrapped around his neck twice stopping him from engaging!
• I cut the excess cord and took Oscar over to see Clare.
